The Beginning

Well we are 3 weeks from Sep 15th, our departure. Camden and I have been working very hard this entire summer to make enough money for our year abroad, and hopefully we can reach it before then! Camden has worked at a flooring business, toting heavy bundles of wood, and at Charleston's restaurant. While I have spent my time working at El Guapo's and at my mom's house. This summer we replaced her kitchen floor as a surprise, because of Camden's flooring connection it cost a third of the price for 3.5 inch hickory floors.
This year abroad we are going to start in Ecuador, working, then vacation in PerĂ¹, work in Chile again, and then finish our trip in Argentina. The goal is to further our understanding of Spanish, South American culture, organic farming, and to have fun backpacking together. We just found out (a little late) that our first farm will be the Tungurahua Tea room, situated at the base of an active volcano near Quito Ecuador. Though a little menacing, the volcano provides us with natural hot springs close by. There are many more exciting details I have just been sent but I will have to post later. -Ben and Camden
